Charles Pressley

Charles Eddie Pressley, 84, of Gastonia, went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2022, at Robin Johnson Hospice House. He was born November 17, 1937, in Gaston County, NC to the late Joseph Franklin Pressley and Thelma Hoffman Smith.

He was a US Navy Veteran and mail carrier for the US Postal Service. He was a Christian man, active in his church, a lover of sports and enjoyed the fellowship it brought.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at First Wesleyan Church, Bessemer City, NC, officiated by Dr. Matt Mitchell. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Cramerton, NC with military honors.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Simmons Pressley; brother, Clyde Lee Pressley; sister, Dorothy Pressley Styles; his daughter, Christel (John) Hollis; stepchildren, Todd (Emily) Johnson, Brent Johnson, Melanie (Hal) Hunnicutt; grandchildren, Ricky Hunnicutt, Rebecca Hunnicutt, Andrea Hunnicutt and Sarah Beth Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Lewis Pressley and his son, Joseph Kyle Pressley; and sister, Becky Pressley Justice.
