Janet Clark Clemmer, 76, passed away at Peak Resources, Gastonia on Friday January 25, 2019 after a long battle with Dementia. Janet was born on November 11th, 1942, in Carolina Beach, NC, the oldest child of the late James Clisby Clark and Evelyn Scates Clark.
Janet worked at Osage Mill in Bessemer City after graduating college. She later worked at Firestone Mill in Gastonia and at Gaston County Schools as a substitute teacher. She was a Lifelong member of Hephzibah ARP Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 54 1/2 years, Gene Clemmer; two daughters Yvonne Raxter and husband Jay of Gastonia and Teresa Clemmer of Dallas; sister Becky Fail of Gastonia; brother Kenny Clark and wife Carol of Bessemer City; grandsons Mason Carter and wife Taylor of Dallas, Zachary Agnew of Charlotte, Hunter Raxter and Holden Raxter of Gastonia; granddaughters Meghan Morris and husband Bryan of Gastonia and Madison Carter of Bessemer City; great-granddaughter Zoey Morris of Gastonia.
Her family will receive friends from 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm prior to the service at the church
A Celebration of Janet's life will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2019 at Hephzibah ARP Church officiated by Pastor Brant Wilkie.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
