Kings Mountain, North Carolina

Alfred Leon "Pete" Dover, 69, passed away peacefully on Monday October 3, 2016 at home. A native of Kings Mountain, he was born on March 21, 1947 to the late Leke Dover and Bill & Mattie Louise Martin Allen.

"Pete" loved his family, his dog "Buddy" and he loved to fish with his friend Jimmy Crumpton.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Julie Long, Walter Dover, Thomas "Dot" Dover, and Betty Allen.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Wayne Dover and wife Ruth of the home; grandchildren, Victoria Ruff and husband James of Charlotte, Wayne Dover II and wife Mary of Kings Mountain; great-grandson, James Joseph "Tripp" Ruff III; sister, Annette Cavender and husband Joe of Bessemer City; brother, James Dover and wife Joyce of Shelby.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday October 5, 2016 at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services.

His graveside service will be held at 1pm Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Don McNeely officiating.

A funeral procession will be leaving Sisk-Butler Funeral Home at 12:30 prior to the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Cleveland Hospice 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
