Anne Melton

Anne Lyons Melton, 88, passed away at her residence on Monday, March 15, 2021. She was born September 28, 1932 in Watauga County to the late Ralph Elbert Lyons and Ruia Mast Lyons.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Sylvester Melton, Sr.; and son, Thomas Ralph Lyons Melton.

Anne graduated from Harry P. Harding High School, Class of 1950, and was a member of Harding High School Alumni Association. She was a member of St Michael’s Catholic Church, former member of First United Methodist Church, Mt Holly and circle member. She worked at EB Stone, NC Forestry Service and retired from Mecklenburg County Medical Society. Anne was also a homemaker, Den Mother for Pack #350 and supported her boys in all of their adventures. In her later years, she lived for her grandchildren and excitedly was awaiting the birth of her first great-grandson.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, William S. Melton, Jr. and wife Laurie, Robert J. Melton; daughter-in-law, Katrina Melton; grandchildren, Jacob Melton, Haley Gibson (Hayden), Randy Melton, Kathleen Melton Furr (Alex), Connor Melton; step-great-granddaughter, Dani Gibson; siblings, Sanford “Sandy” Lyons (Norma), Arzelle Brock (Ron), Donna Setzer (Joe) and Judy Lyons Walker.

Anne will lie in state from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Thursday, March 18, 2021.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Lucas Rossi officiating.

Interment will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
