Annie Freeman

Annie Lorene Williams Freeman, 78, of Bessemer City passed away on May 25, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born March 1, 1936 in Cherokee County, NC, to the late Porter Williams and Lona Stratton.

Annie was a employed in textiles, attended Bright Light Baptist Church and Victory Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to gospel preaching on the radio, she loved to sew, cook and clean. Annie read her bible thru 16 times.

She is survived by her daughters Vanessa Rector of Bessemer City and Dot Bumgardner of Gastonia; brothers Billy and Steve Smith; sisters Faye Carver and Betty Williams; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister Mary Sue Stringer.

Her funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Thursday at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, Bessemer City with Rev. Ronnie Pressley officiating.

Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
