Just moments after coming into the world, Ava Leigh Lanier passed away peacefully in her parents' arms at Carolinas Medical Center of Charlotte. During her brief time here, Ava touched many lives and was loved by many.
Ava was born nearly 16 weeks early and weighed only 2 ounces.
She joins her maternal great-grandmother, Marlene Raby; paternal great-grandparents, Jack and Thelma Lanier in heaven. She is survived by her mother and father, Cheyenne Reedy and Gerald Lanier; her sister Aubree' Ella Lanier; her paternal grandparents, Chrissy and Don Smith; great-grandparents, Paul and Tracy Lanier, and Darlene Fink; her maternal grandmother, Dawn Reedy; and her aunts, Courtney Lanier, Morgan Lanier; and Danielle Hill; her uncle, Austin Lanier, and Tevin McNeal.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel, Bessemer City with Reverend Jerry Millwood officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff at Carolinas Medical Center for their effort and dedication.
