BEN  WILSON



Ben Lee Wilson went home to be with God on Wednesday, January 23rd at 6:50 am. A native of Gastonia, North Carolina, he was born on December 31, 1925, to the late Julius Clayton Wilson and Clara Ramsey Wilson.



Ben was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard and the Merchant Marines.

With more than 47 years working in electrical construction, his career included power line, industrial, and commercial contract work. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed.



Left to cherish his memory include five daughters, Tula Long of Ranlo, NC, Donna Caldwell of High Point, NC, Cindy West and husband Pug of Castle Hayne, NC, Brenda White and husband Hal of Dallas, NC, and Lillian Todd and husband Grier of Atlanta, GA; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, brother Trent Wilson and sister Ola Dabrowski. He was preceded in death by his wife Clara Edna, parents, one brother, and three sisters.



Visitation for friends and family will be from 1:30 to 2:30 pm on Saturday, January 26 at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home in Bessemer City. Graveside services will follow at 3 pm at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, NC with Rev. William Mauney officiating.  Military honors will be performed by the Bessemer City American Legion Post 243 Honor Guard.
