BESSIE ANNE ARMSTRONG



Bessie Anne Laughlin Armstrong, 88, of Bessemer City, passed away June 6, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.  She was born November 28, 1923 in Hennepin County, Minnesota to the late John Quincy and Marion Banker Laughlin.



Bessie was a radio operator in the United States Navy and formerly worked with Social Services.  She retired as a clerk from the County Police.  Bessie was a worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star of North Carolina Bessemer City Chapter 263.



A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 3:30 PM at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Mike Criswell officiating.



Visitation will be held Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home.



She is survived by her son, Mike Armstrong of Bessemer City, daughter, Barbara Woody and husband Stan of Crane, Texas; granddaughters, Melody Gladden, Robyn Scott and Andrea Potter; 2 great-grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Lieutenant Ralph Eugene Armstrong; great-granddaughter, Tara Scott.
