Betty Culbertson

Betty Jean Pruitt Culbertson, 85, of Gastonia, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Robin Johnson House, Dallas. She was born August 28, 1930 in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Andy and Thelma Bridges Pruitt.

Betty retired from Wix Corporation after 30 years. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Gastonia, for over 60 years. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a mother to many others. Her favorite pastime was dining out with family. Her loving, generous and fun spirit will live on through the lives of all those who loved her. She was a friend to all.

Betty is survived by sons Steve and Scott Culbertson (Jennifer); daughter Marsha Ann Wray (John); sisters Kay Kallerman (Jerry), Sandy Killette, Debbie Griggs (Steve), Mitzi Weiderman, Candy Alexander (Richard); brothers Hap, Marshall, Chris (Carolyn), and Ty Pruitt; grandchildren Jason Wray (Sherry), Leigh Culbertson (Chip), Anna Culbertson (Eric Guynn), Haleigh and Erin Fletcher; great-grandchildren Nathan, Jacob, Aiden, Zack, Addie and Bella Wray.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Clyde Culbertson; sisters Wilma Faulkner, Joyce Wood, Sabel Meeks, Janice and Joann Pruitt; brothers, Donald Ray, Tap, and Dap Pruitt.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 16, 2016 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with Rev. Rick Lewis officiating.

Betty's family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 PM at the funeral home.
