Betty Farris

Betty Owensby Farris, 87, of Bessemer City, passed away on August 8, 2014. She was born on May 24, 1927, in Kings Mountain, to the late James Thomas and Dorothy Spencer Owensby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Christy C. Farris; brothers, Leon, Ernest and Joe Owensby; sisters, Annie Belle Cook and Louise Grady.

"Granny" was a loving mother and grandmother who took great care of her family as well as anyone in need. She will be missed more than words can say.

She is survived by her children, Ronald Dean Farris of Bessemer City, Jeffrey Scott Farris and wife Myra of Walterboro, SC, and Vickie Farris Kuykendall of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Larisa Farris Hope and husband Charlie, Kasey Farris Miller and husband Tony, Kristie Kuykendall Morton, Taylor Farris; seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home with the Rev. Patrick Conley officiating.

Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
