Betty Thompson

Betty Jean Huckabee Thompson, 63, of Gastonia, passed away on September 16, 2015 at home. She was born on January 11, 1952 in Union County, NC to the late John James and Beatrice Crump Huckabee.

She was also preceded in death by brothers John James Huckabee, Jr., Marvin Lee Huckabee, and Kenneth Michael Huckabee; sister, Gail Holland.

Betty is survived by her husband, Ezra Thompson; sons, William Kenneth Lemley and wife Karen of Kings Mountain, Jerry Shane Lemley and wife Jenny of Dallas; grandchild Jerran Shane Isaac Lemley; sisters, Nellie Hall of Bessemer of Bessemer City, Crystal Louise Ellerabee and husband Rev. Donald Ellerabee of Ohio; brother, Jim Huckabee of Charlotte; numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City with Rev. Dick Hannah officiating.

Interment will follow in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the funeral home.
