Betty Wyont

March 8, 1938 — January 28, 2021

Bessemer City

Betty Lois Bradley Wyont, 82, passed away at Caromont Regional Medical Center on Thursday, January 28, 2021. She was born March 8, 1938 in Gaston County to the late Norman and Ora Ruth Heafner Bradley.

Betty was a member of Puett United Methodist Church. She was a leader in the church and held many offices during her many years of service. Additionally, she loved to sing in the choir. She was a substitute teacher in Bessemer City Schools for many years, anywhere her kids were in school so she could keep tabs on them. Betty loved to travel and see new places. Betty and Reggie were members of the Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA #62994) and Dixie Traveliers for many years. She served in many capacities with both organizations.

Above all, Betty was a loving wife and mother. She loved her children, but she loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more. They could do no wrong in Maw Maw’s eyes.

Left to cherish her memories is her husband of 63 years Reggie Wyont; children Lynn Stubblefield (Bruce) of Cherryville, Bret Wyont (Cathy) of Taylor, Utah, Bart Wyont (Sheila) of Cherryville, Janet Hannah (Steve) of Conover, brother Joe Bradley of Cramerton; sister Peggy Wellman of Gastonia; grandchildren Leslie Stubblefield, Christopher Stubblefield (Hillaree), Bradley Wyont, Brandy Wyont, Stacey Adams (Jacob), Adam Griffin, Logan Wyont, Paige Wyont Barrack (Harrison), and Zachary Hannah; great-grandchildren Lane Stubblefield, Chance Stubblefield, Everleigh Stubblefield, Danika Adams, Hudson Adams, Azlyn Adams, and James Hannah.

She will lie in state from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Sisk Butler Funeral Home on Sunday, January 31, 2021.

Betty’s funeral service will be private.

A graveside service will be held for family and friends to honor Betty on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Puett UMC Church Cemetery with Rev. Jim Tate and Rev. Wade Childers officiating.
