Billy Barnette

Reverend Billy Monroe Barnette, 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 20, 2018 while at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born March 15, 1950 in Gaston County, son to the late J.T. and Martha Dorsey Barnette.

Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife, Shirley Ball Jackson Barnette; son, Josh Barnette and wife Kim, daughter Melissa Simonds and husband Jason; son, Jerry Jackson; daughter, Brenda Conn; sister, Maggie "Cookie" Davis and husband Wendell, brothers, Tommy and Jimmy Barnette; in-laws, Vera and Joe Ball; grandchildren, Lil' Josh, Makayla, and Mason Barnette, Aziel, Jahaziah, and Hananeel Barnette, and Chase Simonds.

Billy was a very outgoing person. He loved the Lord and loved talking about Him. A big part of Billy's life was riding bikes, drag racing, fishing, riding horses, and watching westerns. The best way to describe Billy was that he loved sitting on the back of his truck, enjoying the weather (while counting ants). He is very loved by his family and will be missed my many.

A Celebration of Billy's life, will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services of Bessemer City with Pastor Larry Laws and Dr. Gene Ware officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

His family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
