Bobby Cogdill

Bobby "Bob" Ray Cogdill, 82, passed away on Saturday November 25, 2017, at Gastonia Care and Rehab. He was born April 7, 1935 in Jackson County to the late Jake and Otelia Frizzell Cogdill.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwyndlen Beheler Cogdill; son Ricky Cogdill, who he was proud of having served in the USMC; brothers, James and Alex Cogdill; sister Faye Phillips.

Bob was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from Bryant Electric, and was an avid golfer.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Vickie Cogdill of Gastonia, Renee Hamby and husband Steve Gastonia; sons Richard Cogdill and wife Angie of Kings Mountain, Wendell Cogdill and wife Tammy of Lake Wylie, SC, William Cogdill and wife Kim of Gastonia; Grandchildren, Casey and wife Lyndsey, Kristin, Josh & fiancée Kaylee, Logan, Kameron, Meredith, Chase, and Kim and husband Travis; great-grandchildren Logan, Landon, and Lawson; his beloved dog of 17 years Tiger; special friends Audrey, Mott, and Ruby; and his golfing buddies.

Bob's funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel, with Rev. Greg Ballard officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday night at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
