Bonnie Lee Spear

Bonnie Lee Froman Spear, 65, of Clover, SC, passed away at her home surrounded by her children on September 28, 2023. She was born July 1, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Kenneth Ray Froman and Ruby Virginia Adams Froman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Wayne Spear, on February 2, 2022.

Bonnie was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She served alongside her husband Wayne for nearly 40 years as he pastored numerous churches in the Carolinas and most recently at Firestone Wesleyan Church in Gastonia, NC, where they were members. Bonnie was an incredibly talented artist who used her creative abilities to serve the church for many years including vacation Bible schools and puppet ministries. She loved to bless others with her homecooked meals and sourdough bread. Bonnie’s family wishes to thank VIA Hospice for their excellent care.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Benjamin Spear (Jaime), Amy Herriman (Neil), Anna Glenn (Jeremy), Julie Clyde (Thomas) and Eric Spear; sister, Janet Podlaseck (David); brother, Robert Froman (Joan); 13 grandchildren, Grant, Kendall, Lydia, Eli, Alexandra, Noah, Canaan, Killian, Asher, Silas, Kyrie, Atlas and Adeline.

Bonnie’s memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Firestone Wesleyan Church, Gastonia, with Rev. Don Avore officiating.

Her family will receive friends before the service from 5:30 – 6:45 pm at the church.
