Carol Edwards

Carol McKnight Edwards, 83, of Kings Mountain passed away on November 3, 2013 at home. She was born July 22, 1930 in Richmond County, NC, to the late James Clifton and Carrie Campbell McKnight.

Carol retired from Arlington Mills after 28 years of service and then she retired as a CNA from Stanley Total Living after 7 years. She also worked for Home Health Care for several years. Carol received her bachelor degree at age 80 for her Biblical Doctrine. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church, Bessemer City.

She is preceded in death by her infant son, Leon Hatcher; brothers, Dan McKnight, Jimmy McKnight, Rev. Wade McKnight,Thomas McKnight; sister Dorothy M. Horne

She is survived by her son Rev. Gene Ray Hatcher and wife Doris of Dallas; daughter Sandra Kay Hatcher of Canton, NC; brother Frank McKnight of Chesterfield, SC; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Barbara McKnight of Onalaska, Wisconsin, Mildred McKnight of Kings Mountain; numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday at New Life Baptist Church, Bessemer City with Dr. Gene Ware and Revs. Michael Glover, Dennis Gomez officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Her family will receive friends at New Life Baptist Church, Bessemer City Tuesday night from 6:00-8:00 PM and at other times at Kings Mountain Manor Community Room.
