Carter Turner

Carter P. Turner, 77, of Bessemer City, died peacefully on February 29,2016 at Caromont Medical Hospital, Gastonia. He was born on June 2, 1938 in Griffin County, GA to the late Peden and Mary Carter Turner.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and usher. He also enjoyed woodworking.

Carter was survived by his wife Demaris Nash Turner of 49 years; children, Laura Turner Costner and husband Randy of Gastonia, Deann Turner Watts and husband Brian of Holden Beach; sister, Lucy Powell of Quitman, MS, grandchildren, Elisa Hiott, Aaron Costner, Alston Watts, Bailey Watts, Mikayla Watts; Great grandchild, Karen Elizabeth Hiott.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, March 3, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Bessemer City with Rev. Tom Raven, Rev. Chuck Brawley, Rev. Steve Weaver officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00, March 3rd, 2016 at the church and at other times at the home.
