Cody David Souther, 18, of Bessemer City, passed away on June 14, 2021. He was born November 3, 2002 in Lincoln County to Melissa Byars Monday and David Dewitt Souther.
Cody could light up any room with his smile. He was the cutest little boy and was becoming such a handsome young man. He kept a grin on his face and knew exactly how to make you laugh. You knew Cody was there because all you could hear was “bruh.” Cody was passionate and hard-working. He loved his family deeply, especially his sisters. Cody loved to fish and be at the beach. You could usually find Cody with his headphones on, sitting in his chair, and playing his Xbox.
Cody was a member of the youth at Walnut Grove Baptist Church. He was recently baptized and passionate about seeing God save this generation. Cody also recently graduated from Bessemer City High School.
Left to Cherish his memories are his mother, Melissa Monday; father, David Souther; sisters, Daisy Byars (fiancé, Brant Black), Jayla Barrett, Meghan Southern and Lindsay Souther; grandparents, Annette and Monty Bradford, and Kenny Byars (Carol); uncles, Terry Byars (Veronica), and Jason Byars (Chrissy); great grandparent, Goldie Poindexter; niece, Jocelyn Brooks.

Cody’s service will be held 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Lawrence T. Reeves officiating.
