Darryl Elrod

Darryl Matthew Elrod, 31, of Bessemer City, NC dearest Son and loving father, passed away on Monday January 5th, 2021 at home. He was born on April 29th,1989 in Gaston County.

He was a natural born athlete and daredevil and enjoyed snowboarding and water sports. He was an avid Panthers fan, video gamer and also loved music by the Eagles. Friends and family will remember Darryl as respectful, friendly, good-humored, smart and kind. He spent his life in Bessemer City before attending college at Western Carolina and obtaining a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He purchased his home 5 years ago where he spent the last few years doing an amazing job as father to his son and provider for his family. He was a proud member of his Bonomi North America family in Charlotte, NC. We will miss him tremendously!

Darryl is survived by his Mother, Janet Elrod, and Father, Michael Guin, his Beloved Son, Abram Elrod, his Fiancé, Stephanie Breedlove, and his Grandmother, Velma Guin, his aunts and uncles - Danny and Mary Guin, Scott and Lisa Hammond, Vickie J Young, and Myra Justice. Cousins - Jake Justice, Chris Guin and family, Ashley Guin Daniels and family. Extended Family - Tyler Breedlove, Pam Breedlove, Dot Cunningham, Scott Breedlove and Michelle Bridges. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Howard and Nellie Justice of Belmont, NC and grandfather Dan Guin of Bessemer City, NC.

Darryl’s funeral service will be private.
