David Lonzo Elkins

David Lonzo Elkins, 73, of Dallas, passed away at Lincoln Rehab on May 8, 2023. He was born December 20, 1949, in Graham County, to the late John Henry Loyd and Betty Louise Lipe Elkins.

David enjoyed carp fishing as well as saltwater fishing at Kure Beach. He also loved dirt track racing at East Lincoln Speedway and Carolina Speedway. David enjoyed family camping trips to both the mountains and the beach. He loved playing with his grandkids and being with his family.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald Elkins, Harold Elkins

Left to cherish his memories is his wife of nearly 54 years, Janet Beal Elkins, sons, Kenny Elkins, and Gerald Elkins, daughters, Angela Elkins Ramsey, and Juanita Kaye Miller (Junior); son-in-law, Doug Ramsey; brothers-in-law, Robert Reinhardt, Michael Reinhardt; grandchildren, Candis Elkins (Brandon), Cynthia Ramsey, Jonathan Ramsey, Landon Miller, and Andrew Miller; and 6 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 02:00 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home on Friday, May 12, 2023.

David’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM May 12, 2023, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Gomez officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park
