David Gibson

DAVID  GIBSON, SR.



David Lee Gibson, Sr., 59, of Gastonia, died September 19, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia.   He was born January 17, 1953 in Gaston County to the late Rev. Ted Gibson and Zola White Gibson.



David attended Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Gastonia.  He loved fishing, wrestling, basketball and cracking jokes.  David loved his family and friends and he looked forward to chicken livers as a last request with tartar sauce and sweet tea.



He is survived by his sons, David Gibson, Jr., John Dale Humphries; granddaughter, Kayla Gibson; sister, Patsy G. Nation and family; brothers, Ronnie L. Gibson and wife Letha, Gary W. Gibson and wife Leavon; nieces, nephews and friends.



He was preceded in death by his sisters, Sandy Kay Mathis, Debra Lynn Burkett; brother, Randy C. Gibson.



His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City with Rev. Mike Wilson officiating.



Interment will follow at Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia.



The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
