David Goode

Bessemer City, North Carolina

David Wayne Goode, Sr. 58, of Bessemer City, passed away on November 7, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. He was born on January 19, 1957 in Ventura County, California, to the Katherine Ruth Hawkins Goode and the late Clarence Patrick Goode.

David was employed at Lithium Corporation of America for 23 years and has now been employed by Freightliner for 5 years. David was a 1975 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and he attended Gaston College for two years in the welding program. David lived life to the fullest. His favorite quote was: "Do everything to strive for perfection but understand that you'll never be perfect." He loved fishing and shooting and especially his puppy, Trixie. David was a loyal friend.

David leaves behind his wife of 16 years, Fran Johnson Goode of the home; son, David Wayne Goode, Jr. and wife Abigail of Monroe; daughter, April Grimes and husband Jason of Cherryville; mother, Katherine Ruth Hawkins Goode of Rising Fawn, GA; 6 grandchildren, Alexis, Jordan and Katie Grimes of Cherryville, Hunter and Kiley Cavanaugh of Monroe, and Noelani Tessner of Gaffney, SC; brothers, Michael Stephen Goode and wife Kathy of Clover, SC, Jeffrey Daniel Goode of Kings Mountain, and Kenneth Gerald Goode and wife April of Rising Fawn, GA; sister, Colleen Yvonne Autry and husband Ivan of Chattanooga, TN; and a number of nieces and nephews.

His graveside service will be held at 2:00 Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.
