David Jenkins

David Ray Jenkins, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday May 7, 2018 while at home. He was born December 6, 1933 in Gaston County to the late Marshal Craig and Margaret Louise Lynn Jenkins.

Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 62 years, Marion Phillips Jenkins of the home; daughter, Kim Spears of Goose Creek, SC; son, Kevin Jenkins and wife Sherry of Gastonia; sisters Joann Jackson of Gastonia, and Anetta Sisler of Holden Beach; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

David was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served in Korea and Vietnam War. He then worked in law enforcement and retired from Department of Defense.

A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Doug Baltzegar, will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the Pisgah ARP Church Cemetery, Gastonia with full military honors provided by Shaw Air Force Base Honor Guard.

His family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to his service at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, Bessemer City.
