David Messer

David Curtis Messer, 77, of Dallas, NC, passed away peacefully April 2, 2015 at Robin Johnson House. He was born February 27, 1938 in Gaston County, to the late Ervin Otis and Lula Viola Sutton Messer.

David was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved to hunt and enjoyed playing the guitar and going to the flea market.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Vonona Cook.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Messer; sons Kevin Messer of Bessemer City, Patrick Messer and Carrie of Mt. Holly, grandchildren Ryan Messer, Cameron Messer, Owen Messer, Emma Messer and Jada Messer; siblings Louise Patrick, Marie King and Johnny Messer.

David's funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday April 6, 2015 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with the Rev. Richard Cole officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, North Carolina with military honors by the Bessemer City American Legion Honor Guard Post 243.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM till 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
