David Morgan

David Lee Morgan, 71, of Dallas, passed away on February 16, 2013, at his residence.  He was born January 15, 1942 in Gaston County, to the late Charles Arthur Morgan, Sr and Amanda Helen Shope Morgan.

David was retired from Freightliner as a machinist, he formerly worked at Sherrill Industries, and a former supervisor at Reeves Brothers-Osage Plant in Bessemer City. He was a graduate of Bessemer City High School Class of 1960 and a Jehovah's Witness.

He is preceded in death by his daughters, Cynthia Morgan VanDyke and Donna Morgan Good, and Grandson Travis Morgan.

He is survived by a son Tim Morgan and wife Alyssa of Dallas; daughter Debbie Walton of Lexington, SC; brothers Scott, Chuck, and Joe Morgan; sisters Becky Gee, Lydia Phelps, and Melanie Morgan; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home Chapel, Bessemer City with Elder Don Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery, Bessemer City.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
