Dawson Grant

Dawson Scott Grant, 16, of Bessemer City, passed away on September 30, 2014. He was born on May 15, 1998, in Gaston County, to Tina Dawson Grant of Bessemer City and the late Gary Scott Grant.

In addition to his father, Dawson is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bob and Gail Dawson.

Dawson was a student at Bessemer City High School and member of Southside Baptist Church in Gastonia.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his sister, Julia Grant of the home; paternal grandparents, Gary and Shelia Grant of Bessemer City; uncles, Vern Grant and wife Bernice of Bessemer City, Bobby Dawson and wife Grace of Blacksburg, SC; aunt, Teresa Branstetter and husband Alex of Tennessee; cousins, Dalton Grant, Callaway Grant, Ricky Greene, Robbie Carpenter, Alexa Branstetter.

The family will receive friends Saturday October 4, 2014 from 12:00 to 2:45 pm at Southside Baptist Church, Gastonia.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday at the Church with the Rev. Tim Robbins and the rev. Eric Lively officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
