Dean Cyrus Carson, 76, of Gastonia, died April 7, 2016 at home He was born on March 11, 1940 in Gaston County, to the late C.J. and Mozelle Carson.

Dean was a member of West Franklin Baptist Church and a United States Navy Veteran. He retired from Westvaco-Weyerhauser. Dean enjoyed spending time at the beach and camping in the mountains.

Dean was survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sherry Perkins Carson; son, Jerry Carson; daughter, Kimberly Carson; brother, Doug Carson and wife Tonya; uncles, Miles Michaels and Barlow Lee; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Linny and Judy Smith; numerous nieces and nephews.

His memoriall service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, April 11, 2016 at West Franklin Baptist Church, Gastonia with Rev. Jeff Williams and Rev. Richard Brown officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p. m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at the church.
