Delton Postell

Delton “Mountain Man” Postell, 79, went to be with God and Jesus on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. He was born May 10, 1941in Gaston County, NC, though his heart lies with his family in Robbinsville, NC.

Delton was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, being outside, scratch offs and looking for four leaf clovers. He loved his children, especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Robert and Zeanie Phillips Postell; his wife of 30 years, Alice Postell; and several brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish Delton’s memories are his sons, Jimmy Postell and wife Kerry of Kings Mountain, Charlie Postell and wife Betty of Kings Mountain; daughter, Geneva Postell Smith and husband Allen of York, SC; grandchildren, Dovie, Zeanie, Madison, Nicholas, Dakota, Alex, Pamela, Megan, Sean; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Clovis, Cyrena, Madelynn, Mitchell; several brothers George Allen Postell and wife Carolyn, Clifford Postell and James Odell Postell and wife Agatha; sister Louise Ewart; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Delton’s memorial service will be held 6:00 PM Monday at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Matt Burrell officiating.

He will lie in state from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Monday, August 24, 2020 prior to the service at the funeral home.
