Dennis Splawn

Dennis James Splawn, 80, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully at CaroMont Regional Medical Center on Saturday, February 24, 2018. He was born August 4, 1937 in Rutherford County to the late Paul Hugh and Nettie Clayton Splawn.

Dennis was preceded in death by a son Roger Splawn.

Dennis was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He was owner of Dennis Splawn & Sons Concrete and Construction Company, a United States Navy Veteran, and an avid deer hunter.

He was devoted and loving husband and father. All will miss his positive attitude and friendly nature.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years May Bell Koon Splawn; children Michael Splawn and wife Stephanie of Gastonia, Paige Maltba and husband Shawn of Gastonia; brother Aubrey Splawn and wife Evelyn of Edneyville, NC; grandchildren Austin Splawn, Michael Maltba, and Matthew Maltba.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 26, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Chapel of Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Timothy Robbins and Rev. Raleigh Castelloe officiating.

Entombment will follow the service at Westview Gardens with Military Honors by the Bessemer City American Legion Post 263.
