Diana Popwell

Diana Perry Popwell, 65, passed away at home on Saturday January 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 2, 1952, in Gaston County, daughter to William and Dorothy Long Perry.

Diana loved working in the yard, gardening and canning.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Sonny Popwell and wife Julie of Bessemer City; daughter, Lisa Scates and husband Donald of Bessemer City; brother, Eddie Perry of Cherryville, sister Betty Jane Dawson of Shelby; granddaughters, Jessica Scates, Ella Popwell, Emma Popwell; her family at work where she was known as "Poppy".

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Glenn Popwell; sister, Dorothy Swift.

A Celebration of Diana's life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Millwood officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Her family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday, February 1, 2018 prior to her service at the funeral home.
