Donald Hager

Donald Eugene Hager, 90, of York County, passed away at home on October 6, 2022. He was born October 31, 1931, in Gaston County, to the late Cecil Eugene Hager and Ada Crisp Hager.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Paul C. Hager

Donald was a retired United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars. His last assignment was Operation Looking Glass. Donald’s second retirement was from Wallace Computer Services. He enjoyed being active in the community, coaching Little League, driving a school bus and volunteering at the church. Donald’s hobbies included golfing, painting, playing video games and saving the bird feeders from the squirrels.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Donald made many memories with his family including football, baseball, traveling, reading the Sunday comics together and collecting Peanuts memorabilia.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Patsy Hager; daughters, Tammy Prado (Mauricio), Terrie Tucker, Karen Tucker; grandchildren, Shin-Ming Zhao, Shin-Zul Zhao, Kaitlan Cole, Olivia Cole Stanwyck, Kevin Cole, Camille Martinez, Philip Prado; great-grandchildren, Ryan Stanwyck, Cal Stanwyck, Mila Martinez.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home.

Donald’s funeral service will be held 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Glandon officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens Cemetery.
