Donald Horn

Donald "Don" Verner Horn, Sr., 80, of Bessemer City, passed away April 14, 2015, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. He was born August 6, 1934, in Rutherford County, NC, to the late M.G. and Letha Robbins Horn.

Don retired from Duke Energy after 25 years of service and was a U.S. Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 39 years, Allowee Gregory Horn; sisters Juanita Horn Padgett, Wilma Horn, and Gen Horn Davis.

Don is survived by his son, Donald Horn, II, and wife, Lori, of Mt. Pleasant, NC; his daughter, Susan Haney and husband, Kevin, of Belmont, NC; grandchildren, Katherine Haney, Donald Horn, III, Clayton Horn, and Stephen Horn; brother, M. G. Horn, Jr. and wife, Martha, of Pilot Mountain, NC; sisters, Iva Horn Holland and husband, Joe, of Marietta, Ga., Carolyn Horn Jenkins of Chesnee, SC; and Tony Cherry, cherished friend and son.

The visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, 730 Gastonia Highway, Bessemer City, NC 28016.

His funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, April 17, 2015, in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Millwood officiating.

Burial will be private.
