Donald Wilbanks

Donald Earl Wilbanks, 74, passed away at CaroMont Regional Medical Center on Sunday, October 25, 2020. He was born July 21, 1946 in Whitmire, SC to the late James Earl and Evelyn Crisp Wilbanks.

Donald was a United States Army Veteran, a Retired Sergeant with the Gastonia City Police Department, and a former Gaston County Magistrate. He enjoyed playing the steel guitar in church and with groups. Donald enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 46 years Patsy Carter Wilbanks, daughter Kathy Byrd Moore; sons Daniel Wilbanks (Elizabeth) and Carl Byrd (Marcia); grandson Justin Moore; granddaughter Hannah Brook Rodriguez; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers Steve Wilbanks (Susan), Mike Wilbanks (Karen); sister Teresa Adams.

Donald will lie in state from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services on Friday, October 30, 2020.

His funeral service will be held 3:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Chapel of Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Mitch Bolin officiating.

Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery with Gastonia City Police Honors.
