Donald Young

Donald Robert Young, 83, of Bessemer City, passed away on September 7, 2021, at Atrium Health Cleveland. He was born November 5, 1937, in Lawrence, South Carolina to the late Victor Burton Young and Havanna Brown Young.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Young; daughter, Brenda Waldroup; grandson, David Randall, Jr.; brothers, Russell and Bonnie Young; sister, Martha Leonhardt.

Donald was a United States Army veteran and longtime member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years, Betty Young; son, Gary Young; daughters, Roxanne Reynolds, Bonnie Champion (Eddie), Barbara Maiers (Ray), and Connie Young; brothers, Bill Young, and Steve Young; sisters, Patricia Young, Betty Jo George, and Frances Beam; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Donald’s services are private.
