Doris Baucom

Doris Baucom, 94, of Bessemer City, passed away at Covenant Village in Gastonia on Thursday, October 19, 2023. She was born July 18, 1929, in Union County, to the late William Herron Baucom and Leola Treadway Baucom.

She is preceded in death by son Bernard Phifer, brothers Marley and Joe Baucom, sisters Audna Blackmon, Ollie Tarleton Trull, Beulah Jackson, and Bessie Johnson.

Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gastonia where she loved to serve the Lord. She retired from the City of Greensboro, worked as a realtor for some time, and spent her time in community service work. Spending time with family was her joy while she also enjoyed playing bridge, square and ball room dancing, and traveling to over 70 countries.

Left to cherish her memories are grandson Jacob Green (Meagann), grandson Kenneth Green, and Special niece Annette Simmons along with a number of other nephews and nieces.

Doris' memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 190 E Franklin Blvd., Gastonia on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 1:00 pm.
