Doris Pigg Murphy, 68 of Lake Wylie, passed away on June 28, 2015 at Piedmont Regional Medical Center. She was born on February 11, 1947 in Mecklenburg County, to Hoyle Henry and Pearl Miller Pigg.

Doris was formerly employed with Eastern Airlines and she was a member of River Hills Community Church. She was the former owner of Merriville Travel. Doris was active in many organizations in and around River Hills community.

She is survived by her husband Tom; and her beloved Major and CC; brother, Henry Pigg and wife Patsy of Mt. Holly, birth siblings, Jimmy, the late Jack; sisters, Dot, Ann, and Pat; numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 2, 2015 at River Hills Community Church with Pastor Gayle Montgomery officiating.

Interment will follow in Huntersville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the church.
