Doris Smith

Doris Nivens Smith, 71, a native of Lowell, NC, passed away on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 12, 1946 in Mecklenburg County, daughter to the late Richard White and Eunice Byers "Sunshine" Nivens.

Doris was a loving mother who loved her family, her fur babies, and would give anyone the shirt off her back. She was definitely a giving person.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Smith.

Left to cherish her memories are her children; Richard J. Auten, Thomas A. Auten Jr., Brooke Auten Stewart; grandchildren, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Alex, and Thomas, great-grandchildren, Kendal, Lillian, Cohen, and Olivia; her fur babies, Flick, Jeeves and Sherbet.

A Celebration of Doris' life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2017 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel.

Her family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
