DOROTHY PERRY

Dorothy "Dot" Long Perry, 88, of Bessemer City passed away on February 5, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby. She was born November 16, 1925 in Swain County, to the late Gus and Betty Jane Sutton Long.

Dot was a member of Beulah Land Baptist Church of Bessemer City.

Dot is survived by her daughters. Dottie Swift and husband Tom of Bessemer City, Betty Dawson and husband David of Shelby, Diane Popwell of Bessemer City; son, Edward Perry and wife Donna of Cherryville; brother, James Robert Long, Sr. of Bessemer City; sisters, Louise Holland of Bessemer City, Lola Bryson of Whittier, NC; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City with Rev. Mike Criswell officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Her family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at 1014 Swift Springs Road, Bessemer City.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Perry; brothers, William Long, Joe Long; sisters, Inie Wright, Leny Ellis; special friend, Ann Young
