Douglas Painter

Rev. Douglas Arnold Painter, 89, of Gastonia, passed away on May 1, 2015 at Peak Resources, Cherryville. He was born on April 9, 1926 in Gaston County, to the late Hesby L. and Bernice Mayfield Painter.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Dolores June Cope Painter; brother, Buddy Painter.

He is survived by his daughters, Watha Grigg and husband Brent of Gastonia, Melissa Grigg; grandson, Brent D. Grigg and wife Brittney; great-granddaughter, Hadleigh Grigg of Gastonia; brother, Bobby Painter, sister, Jeanette Rackley.

His funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City with Rev. Brent Douglas Grigg officiating.

Interment will be in the Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.

The family will receive friends on Thursday thirty minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
