Edna Chatham Hollifield, 84, of Roanoke Va., formerly of Bessemer City, NC, passed away on March 4, 2015 at Friendship Nursing Home, Roanoke, Va. She was born in Rutherford County, NC on February 15, 1931 to the late Ensign W. and Tennie Boone Chatham.

She was such a spirited woman who almost always had a smile on her face. We all have so many great memories with her that will truly be cherished.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard E. Hollifield; son, Kenneth Hollifield and three brothers, Earl Chatham, Dazel Chatham and Boyce Chatham; sister, Faye Chatham Guffey who passed away two days after Edna.

She is survived by her daughter Elaine Monsein of Roanoke, Va.; son, Donnie Hollifield and wife Kathy of Plant City, Fl; daughter-in-law, Barbara Hollifield; sister, Doris Chatham Paris; grandchildren, Michelle Jones of Salem, Va, Melissa Lynskey of Salem, Va. And Melanie Monsein of Charlottesville, Va, Joshua Hollifield of Gastonia, NC, Jeremiah and Jacob Hollifield, Mendy Knous all of Plant City, Fl;11 great-grand children; 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her visitation will be held from 1:00 - 1:30 pm Sunday, March, 8, 2015 at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City, NC.

Her graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, NC.
