Edward "Ed" Leon Jones, 81, passed away on Saturday December 1, 2018 at Testa Family Hospice House. He was born on September 15, 1937 in Cleveland County, to the late Fred and Minnie Mae Powell Jones.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Annette Strickland Jones, son Richard Edward Jones; daughter Lisa Viola Jones; brothers, Charles and Fred Jones; sister, Daphine Starnes.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Earnest Dale Jones, Sr. and wife Elaine of Kings Mountain; daughter, Penny Jones and Joy Poss of Kings Mountain; brothers, Daniel Jones of Hickory, Rex Jones of Kings Mountain, Dennis Jones of Shelby; sister, Connie Jones of Shelby; 8 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Ed enjoyed carp fishing.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with Mr. Danny Parker officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 prior to the funeral the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.
