Edwin Pruett

Edwin Joseph Pruett of Chapel Hill passed away on April 10, 2024, in Pittsboro, North Carolina.

He was born on August 5, 1953, in Gaston County, North Carolina, son of the late Julius Edison Pruett and Martha Loyal Pruett. In addition, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lynn Boyd Pruett.

Edwin attended North Carolina State University and graduated from Durham Technical Community College. He was a Certified Dental Technician and retired from Unique Dental Ceramics in Greensboro. He was a longtime member of Sumner Civitan in Greensboro where he served as President. He was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by a son, Joshua Edwin Pruett of Jefferson, GA; daughter, Holly Pruett Baker and husband, Toby of Chapel Hill, NC; grandchildren, Taylor Nicole, and Bryson Andrew Baker; sister, Julia Pruett Dameron and husband, Frank Dameron of Knoxville, TN and longtime friend, Pat Dixon of Greensboro.

A private graveside service will be held at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.
