Ernest Fox

Ernest Ray Fox, 87, of Bessemer City, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday October 25, 2017 while at Peak Resource of Gastonia. He was born May 27, 1930 in Gaston County, to the late Guy and Mae Smith Fox.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Katherine Harris Fox; daughter, Brenda Fox Arton; sister, Grace Fox Stinnett; brother, George David Fox.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Clarence Voyles of Bessemer City; son-in-law, Bruce Arton of Shelby; sisters, Edith Bridges, Wilma Wilson, and Anna Lee Pruitt all of Gastonia; grandchildren, Daniel Voyles of Earl, NC, Emily Voyles Parker and husband Terry of Bessemer City, Ben Voyles and wife Brooke of Vancleave, MS, Chris Lineberger of Mt. Holly, Erica Menjivar of Concord; 6 great-grandchildren; Josh Lineberger, Destiny Lineberger, Tyler Parker, Lainee Franklin, Gaige Franklin, and Sam Voyles.

Ernest was a retired veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a faithful member of Bessemer City Church of God. Ernest loved his family and the Lord. He will be remembered for his devotion to God, his wife Katherine, his family, and his church.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, October 27, 2017 at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Ernest's life will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Bessemer City Church of God with Pastor Harold Ashe and Rev. Don Capell officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens with full military honors.
