Ether Searle

Ether Merrill Searle, age 76, passed away on Sunday September 2, 2018 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. She was born on December 9, 1941 in Burke County to the late Shannon and Elizabeth Poteat Merrill.

Left to cherish her memories is her daughter Barbara Searle of Charlotte; sons Reynolds Searle III of Chester, SC, Federick Searle of Charlotte, Jonathan Searle of Mebane; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ether was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bessemer City. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, the Charlotte Coral Society and was in the Singing Christmas Tree. Ether loved Christmas, music, she was a huge panther fan and was very adventurous.

A memorial service, to celebrate Ether's life, will be held at 2 pm Friday, September 7, 2018 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Tripp Hord officiating.

Ether's family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Friday, September 7, 2018 at the church.
