Floyd Gerald Crumbley Sr. 79, of Bessemer City, was called home on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at home. He was born on October 18, 1935 in Haralson County, Georgia, to the late Harvey and Edna Betsill Crumbley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Crumbley; grandson, Zackery Crumbley; great-grandchildren, Haley and Cody.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Leona Postell Crumbley; his children, Floyd Crumbley Jr. and wife Rea of Kings Mountain, Michael Crumbley and wife Sandy of Bessemer City, and Carolyn Grose and husband Bob of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, David, Crystal, Michael, Jonathon, Atlanta, and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Melody, Hunter, Patience, and Justin; his brothers, Harvey and Charles, his sisters, Trudy and Katherine; his special brothers-in-law, Boyd, Doug and James Postell
Floyd was a great husband, a loving father and a true friend to anyone who knew and loved him. He also loved his family, but most of all he loved the Lord.
He was a Y.P.S.M. at the Salvation Army for 22 years. He was employed with Big Lots of Gastonia for 15 years.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 3, 2015 at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City, with Major Marshall Clary officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 10:45 am prior the service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery with military honors given by the Bessemer City American Legion Honor Guard, Post 243.
