Frances Taylor

Frances Hicks Taylor, 82, of Bessemer City, passed away at CaroMont Regional Medical Center on July 14, 2021. She was born March 20, 1939, in Gaston County to the late Guy O. and Pearl H. Hicks.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Dawn Taylor; sisters, Rev. Dorothy Lowery, Gladys Perry Gardner, and Yvonne Patterson.

Frances was a member of First Wesleyan Church. Most people knew her as the “Avon Lady.” She sold Avon for 46 years.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, Monroe Taylor; daughters, Crystal Seagraves (Roger) and Melanie Hollis; grandchildren, Roger Dale Seagraves III (Jaclyn) and Wilson Gary Hollis III; great grandchild, Blakley Layne Seagraves; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church, Bessemer City on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Following the visitation, Frances’ funeral service will be held 3:00 PM in the Family Life Center with Pastor Matt Mitchell officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens.
