Frances Wilson

Frances Bridges Wilson, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 6, 2017 at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain. She was born October 2, 1932 in Gaston County to the late James and Kathryn Hager Bridges.

She was a graduate of Tryon High School and Montreat College. She retired from Gaston County Schools Central Office and was also known as the Avon Lady to many people for many years where she achieved Presidents Club status several years. She was a member of Long Creek Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and elder and was a faithful member.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband William Nelson Wilson, Sr.

She is survived by her three sons William Wilson and his wife Peggy; Robert Wilson and his wife Nancy and Benjamin Wilson and his wife Jeanette all of Bessemer City. Nine grandchildren - April, Nelson, and James Wilson, Andy and Mark Wilson, Alison Kirk, Justin, Jacob and Jessica Wilson. Six great grandchildren - Paul, Makinzy, Callie, Emma, Roselee & Ada. Brothers Martin and Winona Bridges, Vance and Frances Bridges and sister Marie Neal of Kings Mountain. Sisters-in-law Becky Bridges and Sue Unnasch and husband Ken of Bessemer City. She is also survived by her special friend and roommate Mrs. Martha Green.

Her family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday, February 10, 2017 at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, Bessemer City.

Mrs. Wilson's funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Long Creek Presbyterian Church, with the Dr. Charles Davenport officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain. We don't have words to express our gratitude for the kindness and extra effort made to keep her comfortable. They were truly her extended family.
