Franklin Dean "Babe" Holland, 79, of Bessemer City passed away on November 18, 2013. He was born January 23, 1934 in Gaston County, NC, to the late Laban Rush and Hattie Pearl Howell Holland.

Babe was owner operator of H & S Machine Company. He retired after 20 years of active duty military/National Guard Reserves service.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Sue Harvey Holland; sons, Thomas Russ Holland and wife Cathy of Vale, NC, Keith Dean Holland and wife Vickie of Bessemer City, Michael Wayne Holland and wife Susan of Banner, Kentucky; grandchildren, Thomas Russ "Rusty" Holland, Jr. and wife Leslie of Denver, SFC Keith Dean Holland II of Ft. Bragg, SSG Joshua Robert Holland and wife Rebecca of Ft. Bliss, Texas; great-grandchildren, Christian Dean Holland, Austin Blake Holland, Cooper Anson Holland, Abigail Grace Holland.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Franklin " Jimmy" Holland; his brothers and sisters.

His funeral services will be held at Bright Light Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Friday with Rev. Wayne Reese and Rev. Dick Whitener officiating.

Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery with military rites by NC National Guard Honor Guard.

Babe's family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services.
