GARY STEWART

Gary Daniel Stewart, 21, of Gastonia, passed away on February 14, 2015. He was born February 13, 1994 in Gaston County.

Gary was a beloved son, grandson, brother and friend to all he met. He loved his teachers, counselors, fellow classmates, co-workers and most of all his brothers. Gary also loved fishing, the outdoors, dirt bikes, swimming, snowboarding, reptiles and all animals except spiders. His cat, Marley, was his best friend. He was formerly employed at Brixx and presently at Valvoline where he considered his fellow workers his extended family. Gary was a 2012 graduate of North Gaston High School and was currently attending Gaston College. He touched so many lives in his short 21 years.

Gary was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather Clifford A. McGarry; paternal great-grandparents, Dan and Mabel Stewart; maternal grandmother, Althea Bradley Lawless.

He is survived by father, Gary and Melinda Stewart of Gastonia; his mother, Melissa and Lee Foy of Dallas; brothers, Gavin Stewart, Ethan Dennis; paternal great-grandmother, Margaret McGarry of Toms River, New Jersey; paternal grandparents, Gary and Lois Stewart of Bessemer City; step-brothers, Michael Graves, Wesley Gosnell; uncles, Kenny Stewart and wife Sandra, Danny Lawless; aunts, Deborah Kinley and husband Jimmy, Judy Lawless; cousins, Lukas Stewart and numerous other cousins.

Gary's Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City, with Rev. Scott Mann officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
