GENE COOK

Gene "Buck" Cook, 82, of Bessemer City, passed away on December 28, 2015 at Courtland Terrace, Gastonia. He was born on July 5, 1933 in Cleveland County, to the late Odis Fonzo and Novella Carpenter Cook.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ann Capps Cook; daughter, Lois Cassandra Cook; 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

He is survived by his sons, Odis Cook, David Cook and wife Betsy all of Bessemer City; daughters, Karen Russell and husband George of Gastonia, Callie Hovis of Bessemer City; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City with Rev. Jerry Millwood and Rev. Ken Fortenberry officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the funeral home.
